The Salvation Army to Host Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Galveston Volunteers Serve

Galveston County, TX (November 21, 2019) – The Salvation Army in Galveston is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day from 11:00-1:00 at the Center of Hope located at 601 51st St. in Galveston. The traditional meal consists of turkey, ham and all the trimmings and will be served "restaurant style" by community volunteers. The dinner is provided in partnership with Lighthouse Charity Team, Shipley Donuts Galveston and the Teichman family in memory of Rudy Teichman.

"We plan to serve 500 meals at the Center of Hope and take food out to the streets to find those who are not able to make it over to our building," says Captain Nathanael Doria, Corps Officer at The Salvation Army.

There are a few volunteer spots available at www.SalvationArmyGalvestonCounty.org on the Volunteer Page. Volunteers must register online to be eligible to serve.

The meal is open to all and all are welcome.
