The Salvation Army North Texas Inclement Weather Shelters

Feb 18, 2021

Warming Shelters:

Shelters are opened when temperatures reach 36 degrees or below, consistently. Each shelter is following guidelines by the city and the county, so exact protocols may vary depending on location.

In Dallas County, The Salvation Army of North Texas is operating with the continuum of care with the City of Dallas to shelter people in hotels and at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center during inclement weather nights. Call 211 for more information. The Garland Corps is also offering inclement weather shelter.

In Tarrant County, The Salvation Army of North Texas is operating with the continuum of care with the City of Fort Worth to shelter families in hotels during inclement weather nights. Call 211 for more information. The Arlington Corps is also offering inclement weather shelter in partnership with the City of Arlington.

In Collin County, the Plano Corps and McKinney Corps are offering inclement weather shelter.

In Denton County, the Lewisville Corps and Lewisville Service Center is offering inclement weather shelter at Lakeland Baptist Church (397 S. Stemmons Fwy). The Denton Corps is also offering inclement weather shelter, depending on capacity of their emergency shelter.

How to Help:
If you are in a position to give financially, please consider making a gift to help provide food, electricity and shelter for our neighbors.

We’re also accepting new or gently used blankets, coats, hats, gloves, scarves, or hand warmers at any of our inclement weather shelters listed above — if it’s safe to drive.
