ZACH WILLIAMS CONCERTS RAISE MONEY FOR SALVATION ARMY FEEDING PROGRAMS
The Salvation Army helps in many ways, and one of them comes with a night out at a Grammy Award winner’s concert.
Zach Williams, a Christian country singer, is crisscrossing the U.S. for his Spring 2022 tour through early May, at which point a check for $1,000 per city will be sent to The Salvation Army national level and transferred to local feeding programs in these communities.
At each concert, a Salvation Army officer or representative is on hand to accept the check onstage.

Awakening Foundation, a promoter of Christian live music, has had a successful giving relationship for years with The Salvation Army. Altrua HealthShare and KLOVE Radio have teamed up with The Salvation Army again this year, as part of the same tour.
This year, checks will go to The Salvation Army based on the number of tour stops for Christian musicians TobyMac, Newsboys, and Williams.
The 40-year-old singer Williams spoke with The Salvation Army Midland Division recently about his faith, music and connection to The Salvation Army, in advance of his shows to benefit the Red Shield’s feeding programs.
“Every night we do a check and sponsor Salvation Army,” Williams said. “I actually have a chef [Paul Fields] from Napa, California, who tours with me. We do an eat and greet every night. He has a culinary program through The Salvation Army out in Napa. It’s a program for, they take homeless, if you’re incarcerated, addicted to drugs, alcohol, they do a program and get them back into the workforce.”
Williams, who recently won a Grammy Award for a duet with Dolly Parton, “There Was Jesus,” preaches the gospel through his personal background of learning from past mistakes.
“Before I gave my life to the Lord, before I found my salvation, I was a wreck, I was a mess, trying to do everything on my own,” Williams said. “I thought I could do it. Living a pretty reckless life, a completely different life. That’s kind of the message is that they can have the same thing for them.”
Married to wife Crystal with four kids now, Williams said he learns things about his own faith through observations his children make.
“The Bible was written so a child could understand it what it says,” Williams said. “It’s funny to hear kids give their own take on the Bible. They love the stories. We love to talk about things. They’re coming home with all these questions from church, things like, ‘Did I know that? Did I know this?’, which is pretty cool for them to see learning for the first time.”
