The Salvation Army & Schnucks Annual Holiday Fundraising Partnership
The Salvation Army is continuing its decades-long partnership with Schnuck Markets, Inc during the upcoming holiday season. From Wednesday, Nov. 8th through Wednesday, Nov. 22nd, Schnucks customers can donate to The Salvation Army by choosing to “Round Up” their purchases to the nearest dollar.
Customers who use self-checkouts may choose a $1, $3, or $5 “Scan and Give” option. Schnucks Rewards members also can donate their Rewards to The Salvation Army, as part of the Donate Your Rewards program.
One hundred percent of round-up donations will support The Salvation Army in the communities in which they are donated. In 2022, Schnucks customers and the company donated more $250,000 to The Salvation Army as part of the Round Up campaign.
“We here at The Salvation Army are excited and equally grateful for the ongoing support of Schnucks and their customers. Together this Christmas season we will round up and Love Beyond Hunger in communities right here in the St. Louis Region and in every area we and Schnucks have neighbors,” said Major Adam Moore, Metro Area Commander for The Salvation Army.
“We are honored once again to partner with The Salvation Army at both our checkstands and at our store entrances to help Nourish People's Lives in our communities,” said Todd Schnuck, Schnucks Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Our customers' generous giving will help fund The Salvation Army’s efforts throughout the year to provide food to the hungry, temporary housing to the unhoused and toys to needy children. Their donations will make the holidays this year bright and the future even brighter.”
At the conclusion of the Round Up, Schnucks will welcome back The Salvation Army’s bell ringers and their iconic red kettles. Starting Friday, Nov. 24 and continuing through Saturday, Dec. 23, bell ringers will return to all Schnucks stores, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily.
In 2022, The Salvation Army recognized Schnucks with the Doing the Most Good Award highlighting the company's commitment to serving the community and for providing support to The Salvation Army.
This year marks the 76th anniversary of The Tree of Lights campaign. The Tree of Lights is critical to supporting services provided year-round by The Salvation Army. This year's Tree of Lights fundraising goal is $7.2 million in the Greater St. Louis area.
The Tree of Lights campaign kicks off with The Salvation Army Tree Lighting at Kiener Plaza on Saturday, November 18, starting at 4:30 p.m. Tree of Lights co-chairs, Ozzie Smith and Yolonda Lankford will speak at the event, with music from The Salvation Army band, and fireworks show at the conclusion of the tree light switch-on.
