These selfless ladies have worked tirelessly to support the Midland Division, raising funds for various community initiatives, programs, and services and even stepping up in local and national crises.
Their commitment to the cause and unwavering spirit are evident in every event they organize, including the upcoming Bags of Hope Bingo event.
On September 23, 2023, Bags of Hope Bingo promises an exciting evening where participants can win glamorous designer purses from esteemed brands such as Kate Spade, Coach, Michael Kors, and Vera Bradley. With each purse symbolizing hope and support, this event is not just about the allure of a new bag but about the community coming together to rally behind a noble cause.
For a modest donation of $25 per person, attendees will contribute to a greater purpose. The funds will be directed towards the programs and services The Salvation Army undertakes to uplift and support those in need. Ruth Carr, a dedicated member, shared, "We all love being part of the Women's Auxiliary Group. We have met here at The Salvation Army every Wednesday for 20 years. Most of our members met through church and then encouraged a friend to join us. It's such a beautiful thing to be part of and so fulfilling. We all believe passionately in raising funds to help support The Salvation Army so that we can help people in our community."
It's about fundraising, building connections, fostering camaraderie, and serving the community. As Barb, the Treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary Group, points out, "Bags of Hope is all about giving hope to people in our community, those who need help and assistance. The Women's Auxiliary Group believes in working together to help others; that's what we're all about."
