IT’S TIME TO LOVE BEYOND
This Valentine’s Day, The Salvation Army is unveiling its new national campaign, Love Beyond. The campaign will focus on helping each other with unconditional love in difficult times, sharing love with all and expecting nothing in return.
We love beyond because we care about each other, providing year-round social services, substance abuse recovery programs, after-school programs, emergency shelter for children and families, and senior programs to foster community and provide enriching activities that help aging adults socialize, stay active and fight depression.
The Salvation Army feels all good things come from love, from feeding the homeless to providing disaster relief for those affected by tornadoes, since starting in 1865.
To celebrate Love Beyond and the 75th anniversary of Tree of Lights, we have dropped off special Love Boxes at your local Salvation Corps location in metro St. Louis for you to pick up and enjoy our campaign. Come visit us, see our corps, and pick up some treats for free.
Youth and after-school programs provide access to meals, school supplies, homework assistance, and leadership opportunities aimed to break generational cycles of poverty. Programs help reduce recidivism rates among youth offenders to prevent cases from happening again.
Our 7,000 centers of operation do what it takes to get the job done. The love needed to help people will always go beyond to help others should they need it.
More than half of Americans have been living paycheck to paycheck since the pandemic began in early 2020. A surprise expense, such as a car repair or medical bill, can mean the difference between affording housing or groceries.
The underhoused face daunting odds. They often face compounding factors, such as employment, increased risk of depression and substance abuse. In 2020, the U.S. hit a record of highest number of overdoses in a single year. A third of low-income individuals have battled feelings of depression.
Nationally, 82 cents of every dollar donated to The Salvation Army goes directly toward funding Salvation Army initiatives. This Valentine’s Day, enlist in Love’s Army with a sustaining gift of $25 per month.
