Giving Tuesday – Nov. 30 this year, the day after Cyber Monday – is an increasingly popular charitable way to donate time, money and other resources to The Salvation Army.

The day was estimated to have generated nearly $2.5 billion in 2020, a significant increase from recent previous years, statistics show, while helping kids and families beyond the traditional holiday gift-giving.

Demographics from last year showed the age group most engaged in the day was the 18-34 age group. More than three quarters of the people who gave to Giving Tuesday were 34 and under.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, The Salvation Army has served over 278 million meals and provided well over $200 million in rent, mortgage, and utility assistance," said Commissioner Kenneth G. Hodder, national commander of The Salvation Army. "These services cannot be sustained at such unprecedented rates without generous support."
